Controls & getting started
How do I ride the bike?
Hold your device in landscape, either way up. Lower the right side to steer right and the left side to steer left, as if leaning a motorcycle into a bend. Tip the top edge away from you to accelerate and back toward you to brake; if you are standing still, pulling back reverses gently. Small movements are enough. Level 1 teaches each move with short on-screen tips.
The bike creeps, drifts or steering feels wrong
Open Settings › Controls and try these, in order:
- Set neutral position while holding the device the way you play. Do this again whenever you change how you sit.
- Run the Guided setup: three short steps for your neutral position, then which way is right and which way is forward.
- Pick a Style: Smooth (calm, with extra smoothing), Balanced (recommended) or Sport (sharp and direct).
- If the bike creeps while you hold still, raise the Dead zone. If steering feels mirrored, use Invert steering; if throttle and brake feel the wrong way round, use Invert throttle and brake. Steering sensitivity and Throttle & brake sensitivity set how far you need to lean or tip.
Test controls opens a safe arena with no score and no penalty, so you can try every change.
Tilt steering doesn't work at all
iOSNormally the game receives motion data without any permission prompt. If you ever denied it, the game says Motion access is off: allow motion access in your device settings and restart the game, or switch to touch steering. If the message stays, tell us your device and iOS version.
AndroidSome devices have no motion sensors. In that case the game says This device does not report motion and touch steering is ready to use.
Can I play without tilting the device?
Yes. Go to Settings › Controls › Steering method and choose Touch for an on-screen stick (also available under Settings › Accessibility). Drag it to steer and accelerate. Handedness moves the stick and the pause button to the side you prefer. The bike rides with identical physics with either method.
What happens when I crash or fall?
You return to the last checkpoint you passed and the clock keeps running. Gravity shards, power-ups and Time Crystals you collected since that checkpoint are put back, so you can collect them again. Restarting the whole level from the pause menu counts as an attempt: scores and ranks take the number of attempts into account.
How do ranks and the secret level work?
Every finished run earns a rank from C up to S+, and the rare WARPER, from your time, your attempts and your style (flow and perfect moves such as clean landings and wall rides). WARPER also needs a run without a checkpoint respawn and at most two attempts. The level card shows the time to beat for your next rank.
Three gravity shards wait on the riskier lines of each level. The secret level NULL opens, with the full game, once you have finished level 20 and hold at least 40 gravity shards in total.
Do I need an internet connection to play?
No. The levels play fully offline. A connection is only needed when you buy or restore the full game, and when you use the online leaderboards.
How do I change the language?
Open Settings › Language. The game is available in 20 languages. System default follows your device language. Menus, level names and tips change at once; the store listing and system dialogs follow your device language.
Purchases
What is free, and what does the purchase include?
The download is free and includes levels 1–4, which are yours to keep. A single in-app purchase, Full Game Unlock, unlocks levels 5–20, the finale, the secret level NULL (it opens once you finish level 20 with at least 40 gravity shards) and the full-campaign leaderboard. There are no ads, no timers, no subscriptions and nothing else to buy.
The purchase costs US$6.99 in the United States. In other countries the store shows the local price in your currency, which may differ and may include local taxes. You always see the exact price in the store's own payment sheet before you confirm.
How do I restore my purchase on a new or reset device?
Usually you don't need to do anything: when the game starts with an internet connection, it asks the store which purchases your account owns and unlocks levels 5–20 by itself, with a Full game unlocked message.
To restore by hand, tap Restore purchase on the unlock screen or in Settings › Account.
iOSMake sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you used to buy. The App Store may ask for your password.
AndroidMake sure the Play Store is signed in to the same Google account you used to buy.
If you're offline, the unlock is restored automatically as soon as you're back online.
I bought it on iPhone. Is it unlocked on Android too (or the other way round)?
No. Purchases belong to the store where they were made: an App Store purchase can't be used on Google Play, and a Google Play purchase can't be used on the App Store.
Within the same store, the purchase works on all your devices: on any iPhone or iPad signed in to the same Apple Account, or on any Android phone or tablet using the same Google account.
There is no online sync of progress. Your progress, records and settings stay on the device; they move to a new device only through your own backup (iCloud, or Google backup and device-to-device transfer on Android), within the same platform.
It says my purchase is "waiting for approval"
The store hasn't completed the payment yet. This happens with Ask to Buy on the App Store (a parent or guardian must approve) and with slower payment methods on Google Play. You don't need to buy again: the levels open by themselves as soon as the purchase completes, even while you play.
"Purchases unavailable", "Not on sale right now" or "Price unavailable"
- Purchases unavailable: in-app purchases are turned off or not supported on this device, for example an Android device without the Google Play Store, or parental controls.
- An error when you tap Unlock: purchases may be restricted, for example by Screen Time on iPhone or iPad, or by purchase authentication in Google Play's parental controls. Check those settings or ask the account owner.
- Not on sale right now: the store isn't offering the purchase in your country or region at the moment. Please try again later.
- Price unavailable right now: the store couldn't be reached. Check your connection and tap Reload price.
How do I ask for a refund?
Payments are processed by Apple and Google, so refunds are handled by them under their own policies. We can't see or refund store payments ourselves.
iOSRequest a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
AndroidFollow Google Play's refund instructions. For recent purchases you can usually request a refund directly in Google Play.
After a refund, the full game is locked again on that store account. Levels 1–4 and your progress stay on your device.
Leaderboards
How do the online leaderboards work?
Open Leaderboards from the title screen. Boards: Full campaign (all twenty levels), Free chapter and Single level. View the Top 100 or Around me, worldwide or My country. Each row shows the rider's name, flag, rank, score, time, device type (iOS or Android) and total play time.
Nothing is sent until you tap Publish my scores, which you can do once every 24 hours. The game sends your best runs together with a recording of your steering, and the server replays it to check the score is real. There is no account: the game uses a random player ID made on your device.
The desktop edition and its demo have no online leaderboards.
Some of my runs were not accepted
Only runs the server can verify count: it re-plays each run from the recorded steering, and only runs of the current version of a level count. If a level was updated since your best run, ride it again and publish again. If nothing could be verified, nothing is published and your daily publish is not used.
How do I change my name or country?
In Settings › Account. The display name is 3–16 letters, numbers, spaces, - or _ and is checked by a filter. The country is optional: it shows a flag next to your name and lets you compare yourself with riders from the same country. Choose Prefer not to say to show no flag.
Progress & your data
Where is my progress saved? Can I lose it?
Your progress, records, ghost runs, settings and your unlocked full game are saved on your device. If you use your device's own backup (iCloud on iPhone and iPad, Google backup on Android), they're included in it. Only what you publish to the leaderboards is also stored online.
Deleting the game deletes the saved progress. On Android, Clear data for the app also erases it. Your purchase is never lost: it is restored automatically from the store.
How do I delete my data?
On your device:
- iOSDelete the app from your iPhone or iPad. If you use iCloud Backup, older backups may still contain it until they're replaced or deleted in your iCloud settings.
- AndroidUninstall the app, or open Settings › Apps › Moto Warper › Storage › Clear data.
Online (leaderboards): in the game open Settings › About › Privacy › Read › Delete my online data. It removes your player ID, name and every published score from our server straight away, and your progress on the device stays as it is. If you no longer have the app, use the form below, tell us your display name, and we will remove it.
If you've written to us, you can also ask us to delete your messages. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Desktop edition & browser demo
How do I ride on a computer?
Arrow keys or W A S D: left and right steer, up (or W) accelerates, down (or S) brakes and reverses when you are stopped. Hold Shift to ride gently. On a gamepad the left stick or D-pad steers, the right trigger accelerates and the left trigger brakes. Settings › Controls › Steering method › Mouse lets you hold the left button and drag. Esc or P pauses, R restarts, F switches to full screen and M turns the sound on or off. Every key is listed under Settings › Controls › Keys and gamepad. See all controls.
The keys don't respond
Click once inside the game: a game embedded in a web page (for example on itch.io or on this site) receives the keyboard only after a click. If you clicked outside it, click it again and press Esc or P to resume.
Where is my desktop progress saved?
In your web browser, on your computer only. Clearing the browser's site data erases it, and each browser keeps its own copy. Use Settings › About › Back up progress to save it to a file, and Restore progress to load it in another browser, on another computer, or from the demo into the full game.
How do I buy the desktop edition, and what about refunds?
The full desktop edition (US$7.99) is sold on itch.io, which handles the payment and keeps your download link in your itch.io library. Refund requests for it go through itch.io. It is a separate purchase from the iOS and Android unlock.
The desktop game is slow or blurry
Make sure hardware acceleration is on in your browser's settings, and close other heavy tabs. In Settings › Graphics keep Automatic quality or pick a lower level, and lower the Frame rate on very fast monitors. Press F for full screen. The game needs WebGL 2: Chrome or Edge 90+, Safari 15+ or a current Firefox.
Performance
My device gets warm or the battery drains quickly
3D games use more power than most apps. In Settings › Graphics:
- Keep Quality on Auto: it picks the right detail for your device and quietly lowers it if the device gets warm.
- Turn on Battery Saver: it caps the game at 30 frames per second and uses lighter detail.
- If you raised Frame rate above 60 (possible on 90 and 120 Hz screens), lower it again.
Which version of the game do I have?
Open Settings › About: it shows the version number. The current version is 1.0.0. Please include it when you report a problem.
