Privacy Policy

Moto Warper · Privacy

Moto Warper is made to be played, not to watch you. This page explains, in plain words, everything the game does with data.

Last updated: October 9, 2026 iOS, iPadOS & Android · version 1.0.0

At a glance

  • No ads.
  • No tracking and no analytics.
  • No account and no sign-in.
  • Your data is never sold, or shared for advertising.

Your progress, records, ghost runs and settings stay on your device. The only things that ever leave it are the check that your purchase is genuine and, only when you tap Publish, the scores you choose to put on the online leaderboards. Both are described in full below. The same text is inside the game, under Settings › About › Privacy › Read and behind the Privacy button on the first-launch Welcome screen. The two never contradict each other.

Scope and who we are

This policy covers the game Moto Warper for iPhone and iPad (downloaded from the App Store), for Android phones and tablets (downloaded from Google Play) and for desktop web browsers (the desktop edition sold on itch.io and its free demo, also playable on this website), and this website, including its contact form.

Stays on your device

Your progress, records, ghost runs, settings and your unlocked full game are saved on this device only. If you use your phone's own backup (Google or iCloud), they're included in it. Deleting the game deletes them.

In detail, the game's save file on your device contains:

  • Progress: which levels you have completed and unlocked, and the gravity shards you have collected.
  • Records: your best times, ranks, scores and checkpoint splits, and the recording of your steering behind each best run.
  • Ghost runs: a recording of the bike's path in your best run on each level, so you can race it.
  • Settings: controls and calibration, graphics, audio, vibration, accessibility, language and your chosen livery.
  • Unlock status: whether the full game is unlocked, remembered so the game also works offline.
  • Play statistics and performance: how many runs you have played, your total play time, and the graphics settings that run smoothly on your device.
  • Leaderboard profile: a random player ID created on the device, the display name (a default one, or the one you choose) and, only if you pick one, a country. These leave your device only when you tap Publish (see Leaderboards).

On Android you can also erase the save file with Settings › Apps › Moto Warper › Storage › Clear data. Backups you make with iCloud or Google are covered by Apple's and Google's own privacy policies.

Motion sensor

While you play, the game reads how you tilt your device to steer the bike and work its throttle and brakes. These readings stay on your device and are never stored or sent anywhere.

The game does not access your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone. Vibration is used only to give you haptic feedback and collects nothing.

Purchases

The full game is bought through the App Store or Google Play, which handle the payment. Moto Warper never sees your payment details. It only learns whether the full game is unlocked.

To make sure a purchase is genuine, its store receipt is checked with our server. When you own the full game, the game sends that receipt (the purchase token or signed transaction from the store, with the product and the platform) to our server over an encrypted connection when you buy or restore, when the game starts and when you return to it. The server checks it with Apple or Google and answers only yes or no. This request does not include your player ID or display name, and the receipt is not kept on our server.

Apple and Google process your account and payment information under their own privacy policies: Apple Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.

Leaderboards

Leaderboards are optional. Nothing is sent until you tap Publish. When you do, our server receives:

  • a random player ID made on your device, not linked to you, your device or any account
  • the display name you chose
  • your scores and times, with a recording of your steering for each run, so the server can check the score is real
  • your total play time, your device type (Android or iOS) and your country, only if you picked one

Your display name, flag, device type, play time and scores appear on the public leaderboards.

Like any online service, our server sees your internet (IP) address while it answers you. It's used only to stop cheating and abuse and is never saved: security logs keep just a scrambled code that can't be turned back into the address, and delete it after a short time.

We keep your leaderboard data until you delete it.

The country is a choice you make from a list; the list may suggest the region set in your device's language settings, but it is never taken from your location (GPS) or your IP address, and you can choose Prefer not to say. Publishing is limited to once every 24 hours. The display name is checked by a filter, so choose a name that is not personal information.

Delete your online data

This removes your player ID, name and every published score from our server, straight away. Your progress on this device stays as it is.

→ In the game: Settings › About › Privacy › Read › Delete my online data.

If you no longer have the game or its saved data, use the contact form on our Support page or by e-mail at lukegarrison.dev@gmail.com and tell us the display name you used; we will remove it.

No contact between players

Moto Warper has no chat and no messages. Players can't contact each other.

iOS and Android details

iOSiPhone and iPad

  • No tracking: the game never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt because it does not track you. Its privacy manifest declares no tracking and no tracking domains.
  • The App Store privacy label describes the data in the Leaderboards and Purchases sections: an anonymous player ID, gameplay content such as scores, display name and play time, and purchase verification, used only for the game's own functions and never for tracking.
  • No permission prompts are needed in normal use. If motion access is ever turned off, the game offers touch steering instead.
  • Saved data is kept in the app's private storage and included in your own iCloud or device backup.

AndroidPhones and tablets

  • The Google Play Data safety section describes the same data: collected only to run the leaderboards and verify purchases, not shared, encrypted in transit, and deletable from inside the game.
  • Permissions: network access (for the leaderboards and the purchase check), vibration (haptic feedback) and Google Play billing (to sell the full game). There is no permission for location, contacts, camera, microphone or storage.
  • Only the game's save file is included in your own Google backup and in device-to-device transfers when you set up a new phone. Progress is not synced online.

Desktop edition and browser demo

  • The desktop edition and its demo run entirely in your web browser. They save your progress, records, ghost runs and settings in your browser's own storage on your computer (IndexedDB, or local storage if IndexedDB is unavailable). This is not a cookie and is never sent to us or to anyone else. Clearing your browser's site data erases it.
  • Back up progress (Settings › About) saves the same information to a file on your computer, and Restore progress reads such a file. Both happen only on your computer.
  • The desktop edition has no online leaderboards, makes no network requests of its own, and contains no purchases. Keyboard, mouse and gamepad input is used only to ride and is never stored or sent.
  • The full desktop edition is sold through itch.io, which processes your payment and account under its own privacy policy. If you play the demo or the game on a page of itch.io, itch.io's policy also applies to that page.

Third parties

The game contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or social-media software. The open-source components it is built with (for example the Three.js graphics library and the Capacitor app framework) run entirely on your device and do not collect data.

The only other companies involved are Apple and Google, as the stores that distribute the game and process payments, itch.io, which distributes and sells the desktop edition, and, for the leaderboards and this website, our web hosting and e-mail providers (see the next sections).

Children

The game does not ask for personal data from anyone, including children, and has no account, chat or messages. The only text a player can make public is the leaderboard display name, which is optional and filtered. Purchases by children are subject to the parental controls of the App Store (such as Ask to Buy and Screen Time) and of Google Play. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our contact form; if you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has written to us, contact us and we will delete the message.

This website and the contact form

No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Fonts, images and scripts are served from this website itself, so visiting it does not contact any third-party service.

If you choose to play the free demo on the Desktop page, the game saves your progress in your browser's storage on your computer, as described in Desktop edition and browser demo. It is needed for the game you asked to play, stays on your computer and is never sent to us.

Server logs

Like every website, our hosting provider's servers automatically process technical data to deliver pages and keep the service secure: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, and your browser's user-agent and referring page. These logs are kept only for a short period set by the hosting provider. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Contact form

  • What we receive: your name, e-mail address, the version of the game you use (iOS, Android or desktop), the topic, the device and system version if you enter them, and your message.
  • Why: only to answer you and help with your request. Legal basis: steps taken at your request and our legitimate interest in providing support (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
  • How: the form sends your message to our support inbox by e-mail. It is not stored in a database on this website and is never used for marketing.
  • How long: we keep messages for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, and delete them no later than 24 months after our last exchange, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
  • Spam protection: to block automated abuse, the website keeps a scrambled, one-way code derived from your IP address together with the time you sent the form. It is used for one hour only and is then deleted automatically. The form also uses a hidden field and a signed timestamp. None of this uses cookies.
  • Who processes it: our web hosting and e-mail providers, acting on our behalf.

Your rights

Everything the game saves is on your device, under your control: you can delete it at any time by deleting the game. The little that is held online (your leaderboard data) you can erase yourself, instantly, from inside the game, as described above.

For personal data we do hold, such as leaderboard data and messages you send us, you have the right under the EU General Data Protection Regulation to access, correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise these rights, use the contact form on our Support page or by e-mail at lukegarrison.dev@gmail.com; we will reply within one month. You may also complain to a data protection authority, in Italy the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or the authority where you live or work.

If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law: we do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

Security and transfers

Because the game keeps your data on your device, the most important protection is your device's own security, such as a passcode. The game talks to our server over an encrypted connection, this website is served over an encrypted connection, and the contact form is protected against automated abuse. If our hosting or e-mail providers process data outside the European Economic Area, this happens only with the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Changes

If anything here changes, this page will be updated in a new version of the game. The same update is published on this website, with a new date below.
